Submission guidelines

Hey Positivity is where anyone and everyone can share their experience. 

 

Anyone who has a story to tell, expert, survivor, qualified or noob, is welcome to share art at Hey Positivity.  Any story that unfolds the emotional issues that you or a loved one has encountered and successfully trying to overcome is worth sharing. 

 

Your story might just enable someone to know that they will overcome it too. 

IMPORTANT RULES 

– Only unpublished drafts will be accepted, which means any content that has been published somewhere else won’t be accepted. 

– Please make sure that this is your own work and there are no copyright or plagiarism incidents.

– Make sure that there are no errors or spelling mistakes. We do understand that you are a human and therefore mistakes are accepted however, please proofread your work before submission. You can use Grammarly.com for the same. 

– All submissions must be in English, (except for specific phrases in different languages that must be explained or translated in brackets).

– Submissions must follow our guidelines.

ARTICLE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 

– Write your article in Google Docs. 

 

– Aim for a word count between 1,000 and 2,500 words, excluding the author’s bio.

 

– Keep paragraphs to three sentences or fewer. 

 

– Keep sentences short and easy-to-read. 

 

– Follow SEO-practices. Include at least 2 inbound links and at least 2 outbound links. 

 

– Reserve self-promotion to your bio. Please note that the promotional links in the body of the article may be removed. 

 

– Images: Just make sure to use one featured image between the title and the main body. You must use at least one picture or photo. The image that you use must be copyright-free. The image between the title/subtitle and the main body will be the featured photo for the article. If possible, we want you to use images/pictures that give an accurate representation of the context within the article. Upload the image on Google Drive and copy and paste the link to the  image in the Google Doc. All the images/pictures used must have a caption that describes:

– What it represents

– The source

AUTHOR BIO GUIDELINES

– Write an author bio of 3-4 short sentences.

 

– Upload a photo of yourself at gravatar.com (if you’d like a photo to show next to your bio). Also, please include in your email the email address you linked to your gravatar account.

 

– Reserve self-promotion to your bio (as opposed to marketing a business, course, workshop, or service directly in the article). As mentioned earlier, please note that links in the body of the article may be removed.

HOW TO SUBMIT?

– To submit your art/content please send us an email at [email protected] with links to your social media profiles. 

– Write your article in Google docs and copy and paste the link to the document in the email. Don’t forget to share access. 

– Upload the images on Google Drive and copy and paste the link to the image in the Google Doc. Don’t forget to share the access. 

– If you want to share another art form than text, please upload it on Google Drive and copy and paste the link in the email. 

– Upload a photo of yourself at gravatar.com (if you’d like a photo to show next to your bio). Also, please include in your email the email address you linked to your gravatar account. 

– You will receive a response in the maximum amount of a week to confirm if you have been accepted or not. 

– After a week, if you are not getting any reply, please free to use your content or art somewhere else. Art shall never go wasted.

– You may be asked to revise to make your article stronger or clearer, and your proposed title may be changed before the article goes live.

– Your article may be edited for clarity, grammar, and overall style. If there are any major changes made, you will be asked to review and approve it first.
